James is currently undertaking his Thesis in becoming a qualified Geotechnical Engineer, and has over ten years experience working in the civil construction and mining industries. He has just commenced his third year at Morrison Geotechnic, and has worked throughout Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory with other firms acquiring valuable knowledge and experience in a range of geotechnical fields including major infrastructure, roads, rail-lines, bridges, dams, highways, pile supervision, quarries, slope stability, pile testing and analysis, groundwater surveys, high-rises and deep excavations. Areas of special interest include earthworks, and pavement and rock foundation design.

James is actively involved in all aspects of geo-engineering investigations including slope stability, river bank stability, retaining wall stability, deep and shallow structural foundations, residential and commercial development, subsurface drilling and logging, interpretation of borehole data, CPT testing and analysis and Plate load testing.

As an accomplished Geotechnical Engineering Technologist James has a vast knowledge and understanding of soils testing, and has instructed pupils in TAFE classes at the Southbank Institute of TAFE with regard to same. He has undertaken on-site Laboratory Management for roadworks projects, and also conducted field supervision of major projects. James has a professional approach to all aspects of his work and has become a valuable asset to the Morrison Geotechnic team.
